Official MLB Pitch, Hit and Run
Saturday June 28, 2025

Check in will begin at 10am

Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run is a free event that provides boys and girls -- ages 7 to 14 -- an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills, while earning a chance to attend and perform during the MLB World Series!

Athletes are tested, and their measurements are recorded. Based on their scores, they advance from a local event to a Team Championship held in MLB stadiums. Top scores then qualify for an all-expenses-paid trip for two to compete at Finals, which is hosted at the World Series.

Why Pitch, Hit & Run?

FUN, FREE, MLB

We’re so excited to bring MLB’s Pitch Hit & Run to your community! It’s a free event for softball and baseball players ages 7 to 14. Your child can showcase their skills and compete against their peers. The best part? The top scorers at the Team Championship earn an all-expense paid trip for them and one guardian to the World Series (Game TBD), with the Pitch, Hit & Run Finals taking place on the same field the day after!

This is a perfect opportunity to let your child feel like a pro as they test out their Major League skills.

How Pitch, Hit & Run works:

Athletes compete in the following divisions:

Baseball Division:
7-8 Age Division
9-10 Age Division
11-12 Age Division
13-14 Age Division

Softball Division:
7-8 Age Division
9-10 Age Division
11-12 Age Division
13-14 Age Division

ALL AGES ARE AS OF NOVEMBER 15, 2025

Pitch: Athletes are tested on the accuracy of their throw. They get five attempts to hit the strike zone from a designated pitching line. If any portion of the target is hit, it counts toward the athlete’s total points. Each time they hit the target they receive 50 points, 100 points for a bullseye.

Hit: Athletes hit the ball off a tee as far as possible. They can adjust the tee to their desired height, and they receive 5 tries. Each ball receives points depending on what zone it lands in -- the score is based off where it lands, not where it rolls.  Baseball bats must have one of the following stamps; the USA Baseball™ stamp, BBCOR stamp or be labeled with a BPF of 1.15 or less.  Softball bats must have one of the following stamps; USA Softball™, USSSA, ASA, ISA, ISF, NSA or be labeled with a BPF of 1.20 or less.

Run: Athletes are measured to see how quickly they can run from home to first base. Each participant gets two attempts to run, and their fastest score is recorded.

Athletes receive an overall score, which determines if they can advance to the Team Championship.

Winners who go to the Team Championships are put in a pool with other Team Championship winners, and the highest scores receive an all-expense paid trip for them and one guardian to the Finals, which takes place during the MLB World Series.
